Airdrie 'part company' with boss Danny Lennon as side search for first Championship win
The Diamonds have struggled all season
Airdrie have parted company with boss Danny Lennon after just eight games in charge, and following a winless start to their Championship campaign.
Last night's 4-0 thumping at home to Dunfermline was the former St Mirren and Clyde boss' last game in charge.
A statement issued by the club read simply: 'Airdrieonians FC confirms that it has parted company with manager Danny Lennon. We are grateful to Danny for his efforts during his time at the club.'
Airdrie sit bottom of the Championship, four points behind nearest challengers Ross County, and without a league win all season.
Lennon arrived in the Airdrie hot seat on August 27, replacing Rhys McCabe who surprisingly stepped down from the manager's role on August 12.
The Diamonds have suffered seven defeats and gained just four draws from a troubled season.
Ex-Dunfermline boss James McPake and Partick Thistle legend Kris Doolan were heavily linked to the Diamonds before Lennon's appointment, and may be in the frame again.
Airdrie host Arbroath on Saturday, and it's likely that the team will be taken by Aaron Taylor-Sinclair, who was in charge between McCabe's resignation and Lennon's appointment.
