Best Apple iPhone 17 deals as pre-orders go live at Sky, EE, Three Mobile and more
Apple's iPhone 17 series is now available to pre-order, with shoppers able to secure their iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air
Apple has opened pre-orders for its new iPhone 17 range. From today (September 12), shoppers can secure their order of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air.
Each model is available from networks including Sky Mobile, EE, Mobiles.co.uk, Vodafone, O2 and Three, as well as Apple and Amazon for those preferring to buy outright. As expected, the new phones aren’t cheap, with prices starting at £799 for the iPhone 17, rising to £1,099 for the Pro and £1,199 for the Pro Max.
The new iPhone Air costs £999 and, according to Technology Editor Dave Snelling, the thinnest model ever has ‘the wow factor’. He said: "Having already had it in my hands at Apple’s HQ in Cupertino, it really has the wow factor."

"Along with a wafer-thin design, the Air is supremely powerful thanks to the A19 Pro chip, and it's made of very tough stuff thanks to its Titanium design."
Shoppers buying the phone outright won’t usually find a pre-order 'deal' just yet, with prices usually the same across the board, whether buying from retailers like Apple or Amazon. But for those preferring to spread the cost of their new smartphone, we have seen some monthly deals that stand out.

Sky Mobile has opened pre-orders for the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air, with prices starting at £25 when spreading the cost.
One of our favourite mobile retailers is Sky Mobile, which is charging zero up front fee on any of the 256GB variants. Sky customers can also get up to £560 when trading in an old phone, but keep in mind this price is based on an iPhone 16 Pro Max 1TB in good condition, with other models receiving a lower trade-in value.
Monthly prices start with the iPhone 17 from £25, iPhone 17 Pro from £35, iPhone 17 Pro Max from £38, as well as the iPhone Air from £32. It’s worth noting that these prices only cover the phone and a small 100MB data allowance, but shoppers can upgrade with options such as 1GB for £1, 10GB for £10 or 60GB for £14.
One could stick with 100MB if they only use WiFi, but even with extra data, customers can get their hands on a shiny new iPhone 17 with 10GB of data for £35 per month. There’s also only a £3 monthly price difference between the iPhone 17 Pro (£35) and the Pro Max (£35), so those opting for the Pro may want to consider if that £3 is worth the upgrade to the most powerful iPhone ever.
Elsewhere, EE is offering the iPhone 17 for £43.74 per month, plus £30 upfront with an unlimited monthly data allowance on an Essential Plus Plan. With this, bear in mind it comes on a 36-month Flex Pay agreement, which separates the monthly cost of the airtime plan and the phone, which requires signing up for a credit agreement.
Three’s prices are also worth mentioning. One downside is that Three requires an upfront cost of £30 to £50, depending on the model, but its plans work out cheaper over the contract period. One example is the iPhone Air 256GB with unlimited data, calls and texts for £47.87 per month and £40 upfront. Compare that to Sky’s deal on the same phone, which comes in at a higher £51 per month but with nothing to pay upfront.
The main thing to consider when choosing a phone contract is the data allowance. Customers should always check their current usage to find out exactly how much they need and avoid paying for a large allowance when it’s not needed.
On this, the gadget expert at Go.Compare Mobile, Catherine Hiley, said: “There is more to think about than just the model. You also need to consider how much data you need. While unlimited data sounds like a great idea, it’s almost always the priciest option, and the vast majority of users simply don’t need it.
“Check your current network usage to see how much data you get through each month before signing up for your new contract to ensure you’re not paying for more than you’ll use.”
