Ayr Ladies Day highlights as thousands head for the racecourse
The Ladbrokes Ayr Gold Cup Ladies Day returned on Friday with thousands turning up to kick off the weekend's racing in style.
Ayr Ladies Day is hailed as a show of elegance and glamour where thousands head to the town to attend a weekend of racing.
High heels and hats met with horses and jockeys in a day of thrilling action, with visitors coming from far and wide to mark one of the biggest meetings of the year.
It provided an opportunity to dress up with family and friends there was no short of fun and frolics before the main action.
The main event of the entire Scottish flat racing season is worth £180,000 this year.
