Beau Greaves stuns Luke Littler in World Youth Championships to book place in darts final

The outstanding 21-year-old produced a magnificent display to sink The Nuke less than 24 hours after World Grand Prix win

Brilliant Beau Greaves completed a fairytale spell by sensationally ending Luke Littler’s hopes of a World double.

The outstanding 21-year-old female star stunned The Nuke to book a place in next month’s Final of the World Youth Darts Championship against Gian Van Veen.

Littler had gone straight to the event fresh from winning the Boylesports World Grand Prix aiming to seal a spot in the youngsters' showpiece, which takes place prior to the Players Championship Final in Minehead.

But the World Champion’s hopes of regaining the Youth crown he won in 2023 were dashed by classy Greaves who averaged 105 to beat him 6-5.

The Doncaster ace recently sealed her Tour Card and PDC World Darts Championship spot through the Development Tour and came close to defeating Littler last month on the ProTour in a match that also went to a deciding leg.

This time, she came out on top fighting back from 4-2 and 5-4 down to book her Minehead meeting with defending champ Van Veen, who saw off Sebastian Bialecki 6-4 in his semi-final.

Incredibly, Littler lost the game to Greaves despite smashing an average of 107 himself and took to social media afterwards to say: “I had two 10-dart legs, missed double 12 for a nine and still couldn’t win. Fair play to Beau. All the best in Minehead. Some talent.”

Littler had hammered World No.1 Luke Humphries less than 24 hours earlier in the Final of the Grand Prix and Cool Hand has stated Greaves can flourish on the PDC Pro Tour should she take-up her opportunity.

During the event in Leicester last week, Humphries said: “I think she’s an amazing player and she deserves it, I predict that she’ll flourish playing in it.

“She’s been a really great player on the secondary tours this year. She’s good on the Challenge Tour, good on the Development tour and she’ll be a real threat going forward for all the players. Not just for me but for everyone.

“I think she’ll do really well. If she’s relaxed and she’s got no pressure on her shoulders, yes, I believe she will be top 64 within the two years for sure.”
