Bobby Wales transfer decision places Aberdeen and Hibs on red alert as Adam Idah places block

The striker swapped Rugby Park for a move to the Swans in the English second tier last summer

Alan Sheehan has confirmed Swansea City would look at a January loan for Bobby Wales - with Adam Idah blocking his path to the first team.

Record Sport revealed Aberdeen and Hibs both expressed an interest before the deadline and the likes of League One sides Lincoln City and Barnsley have been long-term admirers.

The Swans signed him from Kilmarnock in the summer and despite scoring freely for their under-21 side he has had less than 30 minutes of top team action.

The biggest issue for Wales is that the English Championship went out and paid big-money to buy Idah from Celtic near the end of the window.

Sheehan admitted: "He's got obviously Vipi (Zan Vipotnik) in serious form and Adam (Idah) there and it's been difficult to have him involved really with where we are right now.

"But that's not down to anything that he's done.

“His attitude has been exceptional. He trains with us all the time and to keep his minutes up he plays in the 21s games.

"That's something that we'd have to address closer to the time because he is our player.

"Sometimes you're closer than you think you are and he's been good but if the opportunity comes that he needs to get regular football, we'll need to have a conversation, see what he feels."

The 20-year-old came through the ranks at Killie under Derek McInnes He was a first-team regular last season before he decided to move on, with the Ayrshire side landing training compensation.

Wales has won 14 caps for Scotland at U19 level, scoring twice.
