Cadbury axes 'dangerously delicious' Dairy Milk range as bosses make 'difficult decision'
Shoppers had said the sweet treat was "hard to put down" but it has now been withdrawn from stores.
A popular sweet treat from the Dairy Milk range has been axed by Cadbury. Bosses confirmed they had made the "difficult decision" to discontinue the product.
Dairy Milk is one of Britain's best-known and best-loved chocolate bars, with its bright purple branding and smooth taste. Cadbury has launched many spin-off versions down the years, combining milk, dark, and white chocolate, as well as incorporating Oreos or popping candy into the bars.
And it is one of these quirky creations that is being discontinued. Despite one shopper saying it was "dangerous" how "delicious" it was, dwindling sales have led to the decision to axe Dairy Milk Fruitier and Nuttier Trail Mix.
Launched in 2023 as a trail mix version of the Fruit and Nut bar, packed with extra flavour, the range was expanded to include a bar the following year.
Bosses say the initial response from shoppers was "positive", but both sales and availability have dropped "significantly" in 2025, leading to them discontinuing the range.
As reported by Worcester News, a spokesperson for Mondelēz International, the owners of Cadbury, said: "In 2023, we launched Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruitier and Nuttier Trail Mix, before expanding the range in 2024 to include Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruitier and Nuttier Bars.
"We worked incredibly hard to ensure that these better-for-you products retained the indulgence and great taste that consumers expect from Cadbury, and whilst the initial response from consumers was positive, sales and availability have significantly dropped.
"As a result, we have taken the difficult decision to withdraw the range from the market, news we know will disappoint some consumers."
The spokesperson continued: "We remain fully committed to delivering in the wellbeing space by bringing forward an increased range of better-for-you products, alongside investment in reformulation, portion control and education.
"This includes promoting and investing in Cadbury Delights, our delicious range of chocolate containing fewer than 100 calories per bar."

While sales had tailed off, leading to Fruitier and Nuttier being axed, the chocolate treat still had a lot of fans that will be disappointed not to be able to get their hands on it any more.
Posting on the trail mix bag's product page on the Tesco website, one customer said: "It is dangerous putting such a delicious snack in a 100g pack because it is so tasty and crunchy and delicious you don't know when to stop.
"A wonderful combination of nuts, dried fruits and Cadbury chocolate buttons. I think next time I will stick to the pack of three snack packs which have 35g in each one, however, on this occasion, I wanted to try the orange variety, and it certainly didn't disappoint."
Another five-star reviewer commented: "This trail mix has such a great mix of different flavours - the chocolate adds such a lovely addition to usual trail mixes. I love how it's sort of guilt free."
And a third shopper wrote: "This was hard to put down, once you start munching! I think I managed to make it last 4 servings. My only gripe was I would have liked more chocolate buttons in the bag."
Someone else commented: "Really good trail mix, lots of lovely nuts and enough fruit and chocolate to give it the right amount of sweetness. The orange is a really good addition to the range."
