Celtic 'crisis' is nothing new as Partick Thistle plot monumental cup shock
Parkhead diehards are at war with the club's hierarchy but Brendan Rodgers' side are doing the business domestically
Top of the league. Nine points clear of Rangers. 90 minutes from another semi-final at Hampden.
Celtic are looking in decent shape, domestically at least.
But if you were to listen to all of the noise off the park, you'd think the champions were in crisis.
Former Hoops defender Mark Wilson has been there before.
In his mind, a catastrophe is always just around the corner for the Parkhead giants.
Losing to Partick Thistle in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-finals really would be a disaster for a team expected to win a Treble.
Wilson knows it's a long shot. But the Jags boss believes his high-flying Championship side CAN pull off a monumental shock.
He told Sky Sports: "I think it's important that we don't change a lot of the ideas that we've actually put in place this summer.
"Then, there becomes a level of uncertainty. Winning games gives the team belief, no matter who they are up against.
"But of course, they know the challenge. It's the toughest one they could get in this country.
"We'll go and enjoy the occasion. I've been in that other dressing room. I remember playing against Berwick Rangers at one stage.
"You're full of belief as a Celtic player but there's always that nerve that you stumble. They made it incredibly difficult for us that night, we only came out with a 2-0 victory.
"Just wee things like that, and referencing that, might help the players. Obviously, we need to be on top of our game, and they need to be off it to get anything."
Celtic diehards staged a 12-minute protest against the board at Rugby Park last weekend as the furore over a dismal Champions League exit and chaotic transfer window lingers on.
A similar demonstration could be held in the away end at Firhill on Sunday but Wilson insists the Hoops are still a formidable force.
He said: "There's always a crisis at Celtic. I've been through many myself. But when you look at where they are sitting at the top of the table, they aren't doing too bad.
"I get the Champions League thing and the transfer window always comes with a big crowd. But I'm pretty sure Brendan Rodgers and the players if they keep winning games, that cloud will disperse pretty quickly.
"Again, they've added to their squad since then. They are incredibly strong, they've been together a long, long time. I'm sure Brendan Rodgers is maybe a bit frustrated in terms of how things worked out in the transfer window.
"But in terms of domestic form? I'm sure he's pretty pleased."
