Celtic told next manager candidate's biggest strength but 'annoying' dugout habit revealed

The Republic of Ireland hero is reportedly in the running for the top gig at Parkhead

Robbie Keane's willingness to show faith in young players has been greatly reciprocated by one of his budding starlets at Ferencvaros.

But the reported Celtic manager target is also said to have an unsavoury touchline habit that has annoyed the life out of one Hungarian insider.

English Premier League legend Keane arrived at the Budapest club 12 months ago after guiding Israeli side Maccabi Tel Aviv to a league and cup double and continued his success by delivering a league championship in his first season in Hungary.

The 45-year-old has now been touted in some circles as a potential replacement for Brendan Rodgers at Celtic, having enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Parkhead during his playing career 15 years ago.

Links to Keane have sparked backlash in some quarters from Hoops fans and supporters back home in Ireland who have been left disappointed by the former striker's lack of support for Palestine during his two years in the Israeli capital amidst the ongoing conflict with Hamas.

But Parkhead chiefs have been told that Keane's greatest strength as a coach is giving his young starlets valuable minutes at every opportunity.

Hungary U21 international Krisztian Lisztes was brought back to Ferencvaros by Keane in a loan deal from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer and told FradiMedia: "It is clear that he was also a player and played football at a very serious level. He tries to pass on the methods that we can use. We do cool things in training. I really like working with him!

"It gives us, the youngsters, extra motivation to see that we are given the opportunity by the master. From there, it is up to us whether we can take advantage of it.

"One of Robbie Keane's strengths is that he cares about the youngsters, bringing them up to the senior team. We have to do everything to take advantage of the opportunity!"

Meanwhile, the Republic of Ireland icon's tendency to spit whilst prowling the technical area has been bemoaned by Ferencvaros stadium medic Gabor Zacher. He told Csakfoci (via Magyar Nemzet): "The Irish spit incredibly much, like llamas, I don't know why.

"Maybe they teach spitting in the first training sessions there."
