Debenhams drops £110 electric blanket to £32 that 'costs next to nothing' to run

'Ideal for winter nights or rainy miserable days when you just want to snuggle up and watch TV or read a book.'

Now that we are in November, sadly there will be many cold and rainy days ahead as we get further into the winter season. While it may feel gloomy at times, this weather is also the perfect excuse to snuggle up and watch your favourite TV shows.

While some of us have given in and switched our heating on, many people are choosing to use alternative products to add a little bit of warmth to their home during the day - with a popular solution being an electric blanket.

For those looking to buy a new blanket, or are thinking about buying one as a Christmas present this year, Debenhams has a cracking deal on the Neo Waffle Shaped Electric Blanket. Normally retailing £109.99, shoppers can now snap up this electric blanket for £32.12.

Available in four colourways - mid grey, black, dark navy and natural - shoppers have praised the Neo Electric Blanket for being "soft and snuggly", as well costing "next to nothing" to run, making it a great alternative for switching on the heating.

Featuring a fuzzy flannel on one side and a fluffy sherpa on the reverse, shoppers can choose to snuggle into the side they prefer while reading a book or watching their favourite film. Additionally, the blanket comes with 10 temperature settings to provide the perfect amount of heat for different times of year.

Available in four colour ways, this electric blanket comes with two materials so shoppers can choose the side that is most comfortable for them. Additionally, the blanket comes with 10 temperatures settings and 10 timers.

On top of this, shoppers can also use the supplied controller to choose between 10 timer settings. And for those worried that they might accidentally leave it running, the blanket comes with an overheat protection that will automatically turn it off when it becomes too hot.

For those wanting to shop around a bit, Amazon has dropped the price of the LIVIVO Electric Heated Blanket. Normally retailing for £54.99, shoppers can grab the blanket in either grey, brown, cream or pink for the reduced price of £39.99.

Alternatively, Dunelm is selling the Amelia Cable Electric Throw for £40. Available in grey, green or olive, this heated blanket features a luxuriously soft fleece to ensure you stay nice and toast. Also made from 100 per cent recycled polyester, this blanket is machine washable for added convenience.

Back to the Neo Electric Blanket, it currently holds a 4.2 star rating from 100 Debenhams shoppers, with many saying this is the ideal purchase for winter nights.

One delighted shopper said: "The blanket was excellently packaged and received promptly. I am really pleased with my purchase because I find the blanket very light compared to others that I’ve had. The heat is very evenly spread and efficient and I find it easy to adjust the settings. I am now ready for the colder nights!"

With another five-star reviewer adding: "Heats really quickly! Lovely blanket, it gets used every day. No need to put the heating on."

However, one person wasn't pleased with the delivery, writing: "Not used yet as it is a Christmas present for my daughter, however the surprise was spoiled when she took in the delivery and it wasn't in another box or bag, so she saw what it was as it had a photo on the side!"

While another grumbled about the cable length: "The colour is lighter than the photo, and looks more white, the biggest drawback is that it only has a very small cable, so if your chair or sofa is not near a socket you can’t use it. This is a bad design flaw which limits its usability."

Despite this, a top reviewer commented: "Great wee blanket/throw. I’ve had it on for hours at a time and it costs next to nothing. Best thing I’ve bought in years, wouldn’t be without it now."

While a sixth customer praised: "So soft and snuggly. Ideal for winter nights or rainy miserable days when you just want to snuggle up and watch TV or read a book. Love it."
