Disney Plus raises prices for subscribers again - here's how much more you'll pay
Disney+ has dealt another financial blow to certain users
Disney+ is raising prices once again for certain subscribers of its platform. After increasing the cost of one of its subscription tiers last month, the news now impacts those on one of its cheapest plans.
The streaming platform is home to countless Disney classics including The Lion King, Pixar favourites like Wall-E, as well as contemporary TV shows ranging from The Kardashians and Only Murders in the Building to Rivals and much more.
The firm said it's increasing prices to bring customers "the very best in entertainment". It offers monthly subscription options to cater to all financial situations, but those who pay under £10 for theirs will now have to fork out more.
From next month, Disney+ customers with a standard monthly membership that costs £8.99 will pay £1 more from November 24, 2025, bringing the final cost up to £9.99.
It comes after Disney+ announced last month that it would be raising the cost of its annual subscription tier by 11 percent.
Disney confirmed that standard monthly subscription users won't need to do anything and the price will be automatically adjusted once in effect.
An email notifying customers with a standard monthly membership was sent out on October 20.
It reads: "To keep bringing you the very best in entertainment, we're investing in the stories you love.
"We're committed to bringing you the highest quality new productions, alongside fan favourites from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and more.
"As part of our continued investment in delivering world-class entertainment, the price of your Disney Plus Standard will increase to £9.99 per month on November 24, 2025.
"Your plan will automatically renew at the new price unless you switch plans or cancel via the account settings before then."
It is not confirmed if other subscription plans are affected, but if the past behaviour of Disney+ is anything to go by, other plans are likely to see a rise.
In September, Disney+ confirmed it would be increasing the price of its annual standard subscription tier from £89.99 to £99.90 which came into effect on September 30.
Back when this was announced, tech publication Cord Busters calculated what other subscription prices could look like should this pricing structure pattern continue.
These estimated figures project that the price of Disney Plus's annual premium subscription would creep up to £150, a far cry from its original £59.99 annual cost back in 2020. However, with this being purely speculative, subscribers will have to wait and see.
For those considering enjoying Disney Plus content, now might be the time to sign up for a long term plan. Those interested can do so by visiting Disney+ online or installing the Disney+ app.
