First picture of 'amazing' Scots man killed in horror road crash as tributes paid
Leighton Buchanan was pronounced dead after the crash on the A92 near Inverkeilor.
A man who was killed in a horror road crash has been named locally.
Leighton Buchanan, 22, died after his red Renault Clio collided with a grey Nissan Juke on the A92 near Inverkeilor, Angus at around 5.40pm on Sunday, October, 19.
He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in his car, an 18-year-old woman, and the 66-year-old male driver of the Nissan were taken to Ninewells Hospital.
George Stewart Funeral Directors in Arbroath announced Leighton's death and confirmed he will be buried on Wednesday, November 5.
They said: "He was a friend and support to so many others. Leighton is going to leave a massive hole in so many lives, loved and missed forever."
Leighton's 'heartbroken' friends lined up to leave tributes online following his tragic death.
Sunnieleya Tutchener commented: "I don't know what to say, but what I do know is that this world is going to miss your silly personality. You were one of my closest mates and just the best. You will be truly missed."
Jade Wynn said: "RIP my friend. I will miss talking to you everyday and listening to everything you get up to. Thank you for being such an amazing friend to me.
"You were always there for me and I am going to miss you so much. You were such a beautiful person and the world has lost a very kind soul. I feel heartbroken and I can't believe I won't get to talk to you again. rest easy."
Adam Ward commented: "Rest in peace. I should have came and seen you more but it was great times when I did. I’ll miss the tennis with the broken racquets at 3am. Forever 22."
Police Scotland appealed to anyone with information on the crash to come forward.
Sergeant Steve Livesey said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us.
“We also ask anyone with dash-cam footage to come forward. "Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 2243 of Sunday, 19 October, 2025."
