New iPhone 17 pre-orders come with free Apple AirPods
Apple's latest smartphone range will land on shelves this week and one retailer is dishing out freebies with the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air.
iPhone 17 pre-orders are finally open, and one retailer is giving away free Apple AirPods to shoppers. The deal is available when ordering an iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone 17 Pro Max from Mobiles.co.uk.
Anyone doing so ahead of the phone’s Friday (September 19) release date will receive a free set of AirPods 4 with an RRP of £179 delivered with the handset. The Currys-backed retailer is offering the Apple earbuds with select tariffs, each of which has unlimited calls and texts and data allowances ranging from 100GB to unlimited.
Prices start at £38.99 per month for the standard iPhone 17, rising to £49.99 for the iPhone 17 Pro and £53.99 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. It’s also worth noting there’s an upfront cost with each plan, which varies depending on the chosen data allowance.

However, shoppers can also get up to £500 when they trade in their old iPhone, depending on the make, model and condition. This value is based on an eligible, fully working iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB, inclusive of a £50 promotional trade-in offer, so older models will receive a lower trade-in value.
On top of the free earbuds, shoppers can also claim a three-month subscription to Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade and Apple Fitness+ at no extra cost. There are no free AirPods available with the iPhone Air, with shoppers ordering the new ultra-thin model receiving a free Belkin 2-in-1 MagSafe charger worth £109.99.

Mobiles.co.uk is giving away free Apple AirPods 4 with pre-orders of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Here’s a selection of the eligible contracts:
- iPhone 17: iD Mobile, 100GB, £38.99 per month, £135 upfront.
- iPhone 17 Pro: iD Mobile, 100GB data, £49.99 per month, £155 upfront.
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: iD Mobile, 100GB, £53.99 per month, £155 upfront.
- iPhone Air: iD Mobile, 100GB, £44.99 per month, £79 upfront.
However, Sky Mobile is among the other telecoms brands to unveil its own iPhone 17 plans and they’re more affordable for those with lower data needs. For example, shoppers can get 10GB of data with the standard iPhone 17 for £35, or the iPhone Air for £42, with no upfront cost on the 256GB models.
Meanwhile, Amazon has also cut the price of the AirPods 4 from £129 to £119. This comes ahead of the new AirPods Pro 3 (£219) launching on Friday. But for shoppers opting for the Mobiles.co.uk deal, the retailer has earned thousands of five-star reviews on Trustpilot.
One happy customer said: “Excellent service and price, delivered next day. Easy set up, included great offers not found anywhere else. Great communication throughout, highly recommended.”
