Kjetil Knutsen breaks cover amid next Celtic manager leak he fits and confesses Bodo/Glimt are on the edge

The Norwegian appears to be back on the Parkhead agenda as they search for Brendan Rodgers' successor

Bodo/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen has spoken for the first time since an internal Celtic leak put him back in the running to replace Brendan Rodgers.

Martin O’Neill has returned to the Parkhead dugout on an interim basis follows Rodgers ' sudden exit but has already declared he won't be in the job long term.

Former Parkhead boss Gordon Strachan has claimed that sources within the club have told him the man they want in the dugout won't be available until December.

That has moved Knutsen and Columbus Crew boss Wilfried Nancy rapidly up the agenda - who both see their respective seasons come to an end this month.

Craig Bellamy is also a candidate and will be involved in a World Cup qualification campaign with Wales this month - but his commitments could run until March 2026 if they secure a playoff spot.

And off the back of a major stumble in the Norwegian title race, Knutsen unleashed on his players as he hit his breaking point.

Defeat for the league leaders to Valerenga leaves the door open for Viking FK to surpass Bodo - with the title now out of their hands with just three games remaining.

Speaking to NRK, the raging boss said: "We look tired and a little empty, and not like the Glimt team we want to be.

"Today we simply didn't have the energy and power. It looks like we're a bit on edge.

"I can do very little with Viking. We just have to focus on the matches we have, and then we will first and foremost be able to deliver a better performance. We have given them an advantage when we should have been ready."
