Partick Thistle 2, Airdrie 1: Diamonds throw away a lead as Thistle roar back
Danny Lennon's side are still on the lookout for their first league win
Airdrie are still looking for their first Championship win of the season as Partick Thistle fought back to win at Firhill.
Cole McKinnon's thunderbolt early in the first half looked to be taking all three points back to Lanarkshire in a cagey game, until Dan O'Reilly popped up with a back-post header, 13 minutes from time, and Alex Samuel bagged a winner five minutes later.
Up until O'Reilly's goal there weren't a great deal of chances as the sides pretty much cancelled each other out.
With two wins and a draw from their last three games, Thistle went into this as firm favourites, especially in front of a home crowd.
However, Airdrie took the game to them from the start and led at the interval through a fantastic strike from McKinnon.
Chris Mochrie and former Rangers midfielder McKinnon had further chances for the Diamonds.
Thistle looked good on the attack, with Tony Watt and Ts'oanelo Lets'osa going close, but they weren't their usual dangerous selves.
The second half was much the same, with Thistle trying to attack, but not creating anything clear-cut, while Airdrie looked happy to sit on their lead.
However, O'Reilly's leveller with 13 minutes left out Thistle's tails up, and they capitalised as sub Samuel slammed in a winner.
Partick Thistle boss Mark Wilson kept faith with the side that won 3-2 against Raith Rovers last time out.
Airdrie gaffer Danny Lennon made two changes to the side that lost at Arbroath a fortnight ago. Jamie Barjonas and Cole McKinnon, making his first start, came in for Dean McMaster and Rhys Armstrong.

The Diamonds took the lead in three minutes though, when Charlie Telfer's corner from the left was played out to McKinnon, who slammed the ball into the left corner of the net.
McKinnon went close again in 12 minutes from distance, but this time sliced his shot over the bar.
Tony Watt got a sight of goal for Thistle 60 seconds later when he flicked the ball over his own shoulder before blasting a shot over the bar on the volley.
It was Thistle's turn to threaten from a set-piece in 16 minutes when Watt had a powerful, low shot well held by Matty Connelly at the bottom left corner.
Aidan Fitzpatrick's corner from the left soared over Connelly at his near post and was headed clear before it could land in the right corner in 23 minutes.
Dan O'Reilly headed over for Thistle from another corner in 29 minutes.
Thistle had a gilt-edged chance to score in stoppage time when Logan Chalmers' cross from the right wasn't properly cleared and Lets'osa had a powerful shot well saved by Connelly at the left post.
Telfer's corner from the right was hooked just over the top left corner by Euan Henderson in 64 minutes.
But Thistle levelled in 77 minutes when Aidan Fitzpatrick's corner from the left was headed in at the back post by O'Reilly.
Thistle took the lead five minutes later when Airdrie's defence failed to deal with a ball in the box and sub Samuel slammed an angled shot into the bottom left corner.
Airdrie sub Cammy Cooper nearly forced an equaliser in 87 minutes when his deflected shot was headed off the line.
