Peter Wright fires cheeky jibe at Luke Littler and asks 'is he going to pull out?'
Snakebite booked his flights to the finals before he'd even won and he's challenged Littler to join him there
Peter Wright has his flights booked back to Germany for the Euro Finals even if he doesn’t know if Luke Littler will join him.
And Cameron Menzies has joined his countryman in the mix for a super Sunday in Hildesheim.
Wright made a thrilling start to the defence of his German Darts Championship with a nailbiting 6-5 win over home hero Ricardo Pietreczko.
The Scots ace will be in his beloved Germany again when he goes to Dortmund next weekend for the showpiece ending to the series and cheekily questioned if The Nuke would be joining him having had his hassles in the past with crowds.
Wright said: “I don’t care, I’ve already booked my flight because I knew I would be in. I’ve won it twice and it would be nice to do it a third time.
“It will be interesting to see if Luke Littler turns up. Is he going to pull out? I don’t know, because he don’t like the German crowd? I love you all though, never mind him!”
Wright has struggled for form this year as has dropped out of the World’s Top 16, but was good against Pietreczko to keep his title hopes alive.
He added: “It is always going to be hard to play Ricardo in front of his home crowd. But this is my venue, this is where I win. The crowd is amazing and it’s nice to compete against the players again.
“Obviously I have been laying over and having my belly tickled. But I am on my way back and I want to play darts. These guys inspire me, and I am not too old for the game.”
Menzies produced a brilliant display of his own to make it two Scots through to the last-day shootout as he smashed former World Champ Cross 6-1 in a wonderful performance.
