Teenage boy found after vanishing from Inverness as police search stood down
Finlay Mackenzie, 14, was reported missing on Monday, November 3, but has now been traced.
A teenage boy who was reported missing from Inverness has been found after police launched an urgent appeal.
Finlay Mackenzie, 14, was initially thought to have disappeared at around 8.10am on Monday, November 3, 2025, in the Abriachan area.
The village is situated in the Highland council area of Scotland, around 15km to the south-west of the city of Inverness.
Worries were mounting for the young man's wellbeing. Detectives had issued an urgent appeal to help locate the teen, with the public being asked for their help in finding him as soon as possible.
Those from the village were also asked to keep an eye out for anyone matching Finlay's description.
However, shortly before 12pm today, Police Scotland confirmed that Finlay has been located.
Officers thanked people on social media who shared their post.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We can confirm that Finlay Mackenzie, who was reported missing from the Abriachan area, has been traced.
"Thanks to those who shared our appeal."
