Rangers to bank six figure transfer fee as forgotten man on verge of permanent exit

The Light Blues are set to pocket a tidy windfall - but Aris could make a quick-fire profit

Aris are on track to trigger the permanent signing of on-form Ross McCausland by January - with interest in him heating up.

The on-loan Rangers winger has hit three goals in three games for Aris who are joint-top of the Cypriot First Division.

Aris signed the 22-year-old in August and have an obligation to buy for a six-figure fee if he makes a set number of appearances.

He has scored against Olympiakos Nicosia, AEK Larnaca and Ethnikos at the weekend and is already attracting interest from bigger leagues in Europe.

The Northern Irish international has already established himself in the Aris first-team and they have already indicated that they want to make the move permanent.

The move would be triggered after a set number of games, which McCausland is on course to hit in January.

The Ibrox academy graduate has hit the ground while the Rangers manager he has left behind, Russell Martin, is struggling for results and to save his job.

They are hoping to win the league and target another crack at the Champions League next season.

Aris are currently level on points with Pafos and Omonia.

Aris have a strong ex-Rangers tradition in their team.

They already have Connor Goldson and Leon Balogun and recently signed former Ibrox keeper Wes Foderingham, after his exit from West Ham United.

McCausland came on to their radar after scoring for Rangers against the Cypriots in the Europa League two years ago.
