The scene is just around 15 miles from where partial remains of Graham Wright were found near Firkin Point. Two people have since appeared in court charged with murdering the 38-year-old before allegedly dismembering his body.
It’s currently unclear whether the latest remains found are human or from an animal. Detectives say their enquiries currently remain ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9.45am on Sunday, November 2, police were made aware of a bag with possible remains found in the Arthurstone Road area of Alexandria. The contents are being assessed and enquiries are ongoing.”
Lynda Kelly and David McColl have both appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court in relation to Graham’s death. Kelly, 57, allegedly killed Graham at the flat in Glasgow 's Castlemilk between August 20 and September 13 2025. Court papers state Kelly assaulted Mr Wright and caused him to be "fatally injured".

It is stated that Kelly, having been conscious of her guilt of murder, "disposed and secreted" Mr Wright's remains. This was said to have been done in various locations which include wooded areas in Castlemilk as well as Loch Lomond.
The charge goes on to say Kelly then cleaned her flat and its common close with bleach. It is stated that she removed, concealed and destroyed evidence of the crime of murder to avoid detection, arrest and prosecution. Kelly made no plea at Glasgow Sheriff Court on October 24.
McColl, 50, has previously appeared at the same court charged with Mr Wright's murder. He is also claimed to have dumped Mr Wright's remains at wooded areas in Castlemilk and Loch Lomond. McColl, of Glasgow, also faced two breaches of bail. He made no plea was remanded in custody.
Another man, John Roarty, 54, has been accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice in relation to the matter.
As part of the inquiry into Graham's death a flat, previously linked to inquiry into disappearance of missing busker Lewis Cuthbert, was searched.
