Scott McTominay responds to bombshell Napoli exit claim by showing the world his true colours

The Scotland international netted the crucial second in his side's pulsating 3-1 win over title rivals Inter on Saturday night

Sizzling Scott McTominay revealed he was blinded by the lights seconds before clearly showing his dedication to the Napoli cause.

The Scotland international netted the crucial second in his side's pulsating 3-1 win over title rivals Inter on Saturday night, as he responded in the best possible way to a bombshell claim about his future.

McTominay is adored in Naples but a report on Saturday stated the 28-year-old, dubbed McFratm by swooning locals, claimed a return to the Premier League could be on due to his rock-star fame in his adopted city and the pressures which come with it.

A source in the Sun claimed: “Scott loves elements of Italian life and had a wonderful first season. But the passion of the fans can be a blessing but also make things difficult. He is treated as a god over there but it means he finds it difficult to do simple things when he’s not training. The attention can be suffocating.”

But if McTominay is doubting Naples life he isn't showing it on the pitch as his striker against Inter added to his brace against PSV as he rediscovered his scoring touch with the Serie A champions.

And the former Manchester United star revealed he had to work extra hard to make sure the ball found the back of the net.

Speaking to DAZN Italia, he said: “We knew we had to give a reaction after the Champions League and I thought we did that really well. Inter are a top team with great players, but it was a top response. I lost it in the lights, so the pass took me by surprise, the lights are so bright I couldn’t see it. Then I just thought to shoot. Leo is a top player, he put in some great passes this year, now we need to find that consistency so we can continue to push.”
