SPFL face Rangers vs Hibs fixture headache as Celtic trigger Glasgow no-no
The Ibrox side are due to be in action on the same day as Celtic face St Mirren in Glasgow
Rangers’ defeat to Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final looks set to have a knock-on effect for fans.
Ibrox punters are on a downer following the 3-1 extra time loss at Hampden to their fierce rivals.
Celtic now face St Mirren at the National Stadium on December 14 for the first piece of silverware of the season.
That means the Hoops’ trip to Falkirk scheduled for the same day will now have to be rescheduled.
Rangers are also due to host Hibs in the Scottish Premiership on the same day but will almost certainly have to be moved.
It’s scheduled for a 3pm kick off at Ibrox with the Premier Sports Cup Final confirmed as a 3.30pm kick.
Rangers are in Europa League action in Budapest against Robbie Keane’s Ferencvaros on the Thursday, which is why the fixture has been moved to the Sunday.
But Police Scotland are unlikely to allow both games to go ahead at their respective kick-off times on the same day in Glasgow.
That could mean it moving to a lunchtime kick off or even a change of date. Celtic are in midweek action when they take on Dundee United in their rescheduled game from the semi-final so that could be one option.
